Air Compressors
Field technicians use air compressors for diverse tasks, including powering pneumatic tools such as impact wrenches and drills, inflating tires, cleaning equipment with air blow guns, spray painting, conducting emergency repairs, and performing testing and diagnostics. The versatility of compressed air allows the operator to address a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on-site, enhancing efficiency and enabling roadside assistance for vehicles, machinery and other equipment.
All-In-One Mobile Power Systems
Technicians rely on all-in-one mobile power systems on service trucks to offer a compact solution that combines a generator, air compressor, welder, and occasionally a battery charger into a single unit. This mobile setup takes up less space than individual sets of equipment and ensures dedicated power is delivered for electrical tools, welders, pneumatic devices, and various electronics. This makes the operator capable of performing a range of servicing tasks with greater efficiency on the jobsite.
Power Inverters
Technicians use power inverters on work vehicles for converting direct current (DC) electricity from the vehicle's battery into alternating current (AC) electricity to charge or operate power tools, laptops, cellphones, lighting, and other electronic devices one may use in field work. A dependable power source is essential for seamless on-the-go customer and business communication, as well as for efficiently executing installation, maintenance, and repair tasks that rely on electricity.
Power Take Off Units
These transmission, engine or driveline mounted units harness mechanical power from the vehicle's running engine to operate many kinds of onboard equipment a technician may use on the jobsite. A PTO may power hydraulic systems in heavy lifting or pulling equipment like cranes, winches and hoists, air compressors used in pneumatic tools, welders, or produce electricity for generators to operate power tools. They are most popular in applications that demand high power output and efficiency.
Welders
Fabricate or modify metal on-the-go with portable or mounted, fuel or engine driven welding equipment. This is useful for creating custom or replacing worn components, fixing structural issues, securing loose parts, or addressing damages to equipment and other items, whether for your own needs or as service to others. Knapheide can provide guidance, procure, and install the most suitable welder, factoring in materials frequently worked on, their thickness, and the technician's skill level.
Grill Guards
The primary purpose of grill guards is to provide protection to the vehicle's front end, especially the grill and headlights, from potential damage caused by collisions with animals, debris, or other objects. In rural or off-road settings, work vehicles are more susceptible to encounters with wildlife, and they help minimize the risk of damage. Grill guards also often come with mounting points, allowing work vehicles to be equipped with auxiliary lighting, winches, or other accessories.
Steps
Work vehicles are often large and elevated, making it challenging for individuals to access the cab or cargo area without assistance. Steps play a crucial role in providing a convenient means for drivers and operators to enter and exit while reducing the chances of physical strain or injury due to slipping or falling. The fixed or retractable accessories, available in varying lengths, allow for a more productive work environment for those interacting with these vehicles on a regular basis.
Trailer Hitches
Hitches are rear mounted connectors on commercial vehicles that allow operators to safely tow trailers filled with cargo. These are crucial because they significantly expand a vehicle's hauling capacity, enabling them to transport large quantities of goods, equipment, or materials needed for various business operations. Without hitches, commercial vehicles would be limited to their own bed capacity, hindering efficiency and potentially requiring additional trips.
Winches
Commercial vehicles, especially those engaging in off-road activities, may encounter challenging terrains or obstacles. A winch can be used for self-recovery or to assist other vehicles by providing the necessary pulling power to get them out of difficult situations. They can also be valuable in reaching, lifting or positioning a range of loads including heavy equipment, holding up structures temporarily, or handling large or bulk amounts of materials around the jobsite.
Backup Alarms
Backup alarms, also known as reversing alarms, are crucial safety devices for vehicles, especially those with large blind spots or frequently operating in areas with high foot traffic. They emit an audible warning sound when the vehicle is in reverse gear, alerting nearby pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers of the vehicle's movement and potential danger zone. This helps to prevent collisions and accidents, particularly in situations where the driver might not have a clear view behind them. Knapheide and it's partners upfit many of the heavy equipment, industries and vehicles where backup alarms are an integral piece of safety equipment.
Salt Spreaders and Brine Sprayers
Spreaders and sprayers efficiently distribute dry granular salt or liquid brine onto roads and paved surfaces, preventing the formation of ice and enhancing traction. These specialized devices improve safety by reducing the risk of accidents caused by slipping or sliding and are more efficient than manual spreading methods. They are crucial for those responsible for maintaining roadways during winter weather, ensuring that travel remains safe and efficient even in challenging conditions.
Snow Plows
When others count on you during winter weather conditions, you can count on Knapheide Truck Equipment Center to provide you with the highest quality snow removal products like pushers, plows, and blades that will help you make easy work of the toughest snow removal jobs.
Fuel Transfer Tanks
Adding a transfer tank to your commercial vehicle can transform it into a portable fuel station. These are often mounted in a bed or cargo area and are used to transport extra diesel or other fuels to allow extended operating range, convenient on-site refueling for heavy equipment, and eliminates the need for frequent trips to the gas station--saving time and money.
Lube Skids
Add mobile maintenance and lubrication convenience, portability and versatility to your commercial vehicle with the addition of a lube skid. These units are typically mounted within a commercial vehicle's cargo and are designed for servicing other commercial vehicles in the field with grease, lubricants and other fluids.
